According to the new Lonely Planet Guide for 2014, Yorkshire has secured a top-ten place on a global list of must-visit tourism destinations.

In fact, so good is Yorkshire, that our lovely County is listed in third place in the World's "Best in Travel 2014 Guide";
Yorkshire sits just behind only Sikkim in India and the Kimberley region in Western Australia.
The 2014 Guide lists Yorkshire ahead of countries and regions such as Texas and Mallorca; as well as China, Tonga, Japan, Zimbabwe and Zambia; which round out the top-ten "must-see" places to visit in 2014.
The Lonely Planet Guide says "this welcoming region of rugged moorlands, heritage homes and cosy pubs will be able to hold its head even higher when the Tour de France begins its Grand Départ".
Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2014 contributor Tom Hall said: “It’s about time that travellers wake up to the wonder that is Yorkshire."
