October Walk in Rosedale

Boots small

Autumn offers a chance to take in many great walks directly from Rosella Cottage here in Rosedale Abbey.

Our village has official "Walkers are Welcome" status; so you're assured of a plenty of good walks and a freindly reception from the locals.

We also have three village pubs, two village cafes, and another up the Dale; as well as the Gilles Jones Glass Studio.

We also host an annual walking festival each June with around a dozen walks planned each year.

Walkers Are Welcome in Rosedale Abbey.

The walk I'll describe today is an ideal introduction to everything Rosedale offers the keen hiker!

It's a circuit walk starting out from the village centre; and taking in the lovely scenery of both Northdale and upper Rosedale, and the banks of the River Seven.

Turn right and head steeply downhill into the valley bottom of Northdale.

Cross the bridge over the stream and ("7") and then head off uphill on the path that leads diagonally across the filed towards the right.

Go through the gate ("8") and then simply follow the signposted path down Northdale until you're back in Rosedale Abbey.
