Our own family just loves our holiday cottage in Rosedale Abbey; but we always value the feedback we recieve from our paying guests.

Whilst most feedback we recieve is positive with people seeming to genuinely enjoy their stay with us, we do occasionally get the odd complaint or suggestion for improvement.

In September, we received three pieces of feedback which we've acted to rectify quickly.

The first negative feedback was from a guest with a bad back who indicated that the steepness of our stairs was a problem for them.  

They indicated that they hadn't realized that the stairs would be steep.  

In response, I've added new content to our website under the "Essential Information" tab, "Cottage Features" tab and the "Check Availability" tab.  

This new information on our website makes the issue much more transparent.

Another guest indicated that the dishwasher stopped working during thier stay with us.  

It's always good to get this type of feedback, otherwise we can't get these minor problems rectified in a timely manner.

We've had the service technician out to to Rosedale Abbey and the problem was fixed under warranty since the dishwasher was new.

And lastly, one of our guests noticed a small water mark appearing on the downstairs ceiling which seemed to be coming from the area of the shower upstairs. 

Upon investigation, it was noticed that there was a small hole in the tiling grout which was allowing water to leak from the shower base.  

We're very glad that this little problem was brought to our attention as it has allowed us to get our builder to fix the problem without delay or major disruption.

I don't want to end this post on a negative, so here are three bits of positive feedback we also recieved in September and October.

Arrived yesterday, what a lovely place. The cottage and village are just beautiful. Nicola and Charlotte, Rotherham, October 2013.

The cottage was ace and we had the best time! What a lovely place Rosedale Abbey is. The cottage is in great condition. It must have been relaxing cos I actually enjoyed the washing up! We went Whitby on Friday and then just chilled on Saturday and Sunday in the cottage and village. Luke Walker, Doncaster, October 2013.
