Where is Rosedale Abbey?

The hamlet of Rosedale Abbey is located in the deep valley of the River Seven where it cuts southwards through the high moorland of the North York Moors National Park.

Rosedale Abbey is in a conservation zone; and it is almost in the centre of the geographical area making up the North Yorkshire Moors.

We're fortunate to be roughly equal in distance from the historic City of York to the Southwest; Scarborough, the famous seaside town to the East on the Coast; and Durham, the lovely Cathedral and University town to the North.  All three towns are only about an hour away by car.

For tourists visiting the North of England, the National Park surrounding Rosedale is one of the three great areas of scenic beauty to be found stretching across the country from West to East - these being the English Lake District; the Yorkshire Dales NP; and the North York Moors National Park.

All three parks are noted for the rich diversity of their landscapes, their scenary, history, culture, and the large number of things to do for visitors.

Obviously we're biased - living in Rosedale - we love the North YorkMoors the best because it doesn't have the summer crowds of the other big Northern National Parks.
