The historic and beautiful village of Rosedale Abbey is celebrating for being the first village in the North York Moors National Park to gain Walkers are Welcome status.

And it is one of only 80 towns and villages nationwide to be invited to join the innovative program.

Great walks in all directions when staying in Rosedale in the North York Moors.

This recognition highlights how Rosedale Abbey has demonstrated a real commitment to making visits from walkers as enjoyable as possible.

Rosedale Abbey is famous for its spectacular views and wild walks, some of which are already highlighted on our website (click here).

To gain the Walkers are Welcome status, Rosedale Abbey has proven its commitment to walkers; including maintain existing walks in good condition, and making facilities available to walkers.

Rosedale Abbey has plenty of walks available which start out right from the village centre.

We’re surrounded by spectacular countryside and we have a huge variety of landscapes.

We have high moors, secluded woodlands, and historical valley walks.

There are walks to suit all ages and experience, with many still undiscovered and in unspoiled areas.
