The North York Moors National Parks' visitor center at Danby Lodge in Danby gives you the chance to explore the moors whilst remaining warm and dry inside!
So it makes an ideal day out if the weather is a little inclement this January.
Danby Lodge - Moors Centre.
You'll get to know about the life of the National Park with information on everything from the call of the curlew to the life-cycle of the sheep on the Moors.
You’ll also learn loads of information about our moorland wildlife, the 10,000 year history of mankind on the moors, and the geology of the area.
And all without leaving the shelter of this old hunting lodge.
There are also activities for children, an indoor climbing wall, a maze, outdoor nature walks in the woods and longside the Esk, locally made crafts and gifts, a fabulous art gallery and a lovely café serving great lunches and snacks all day.
The Wooly Sheep Cafe Serves Great Food All Day.
The Moors Centre at Danby really does make for a water proof day out in Winter.
