Weekend Breaks in Rosedale

It’s the time of year when we all need a pick-me-up.

Something to look forward to as the nights draw in and the weather turns colder.

And there’s nothing quite like looking forward to a weekend break to get you through a dull working week.

Get Some Fresh Air with Any of the Great Walks Available in Rosedale.

Being just a couple of hours drive for folks from the bigger towns like Leeds, Sheffield, Rotherham and Newcastle; and just an hour from York, Harrogate and Middlesbrough; it means a weekend away to the North York Moors is a no-fuss, no stress option available to thousands of people.

And the Moors are simply beautiful at this frosty time of year.

Did you know that the Lonely Planet recently named us in the top three "must visit" places on Planet Earth for 2014!

How good a recommendation is that?

You'll find that the North York Moors is packed with gorgeous Inns and restaurants, and lovelly local cafes.

And with the local towns like Whitby, Pickering, Helmsley, Malton Great Ayton, and Stokesley offering great shopping and day's out, there is plenty to do.

Because of its central location, we think that Rosedale Abbey is the best place to stay for a weekend or holiday on the Moors.

That's what first drew us to this area!

And where better to stay than our little luxury self-catering cottage?

We have a a focus on the needs of active couples, but we can also accommodate kids on a sofa bed if need be.

You'll discover that Rosedale Abbey is the small, but principle village in Rosedale and we have a shop, two cafes and two pubs right in the village (a third village pub will re-open in 2014 after renovations).

There is also the World-famous gallery of Gilles Jones right in the village and just a stroll from Rosella Cottage.

So once you're here for the weekend, you can forget the car, enjoy some walks, and a few nice ales with the friendly locals.
