There is an exciting new exhibition planned at our favourite local gallery in Nunnington; just a couple of miles to the SE of Helmsley.
I'm talking, of course, about the Bils & Rye Gallery owned and run by Kate and Nick Bentley.
Jack Banister is a Yorkshire artist who paints scenarios and situations; like this one of weatherbeaten farmers at auction, deep in concentration.
Bils & Rye is celebrating the unique countryside of the North York Moors and Howardian Hills this autumn; with their new exhibition of lovely artworks titled "Fur & Feather".
Kate and Nick Bentley see this show as a homage to their beautiful countryside surroundings here in North Yorkshire.
This exhibition showcases animal art with a contemporary edge.
Fur & Feather is about the countryside, about the creatures you'll find round here; and also about the people who make this area home.
The exhibition includes ceramic works by May Wild Ceramics, and Brendan Hesmondhalgh; drypoints by Emerson Mayes; and paintings by Jack Banister.
Brendan Hesmondhalgh’s ceramic bulls or boars - as seen at Chelsea Flower Show - powerful creatures ripped with muscle and virile energy.
These four artists use their observations of the natural world to make work that is earthy, striking, contemporary and celebratory.
In addition to these four very talented artists, Bils & Rye will also have some very special guest artists appearing during the exhibition!
The exhibition runs from 1st September to 12th October 2014
There will be a special event attended by the artists on Saturday 13th September 2014
From 14:00 - 17:00
