North York Moors Family Events

We're in mid-August and the school holidays are coming along apace on the North York Moors.

Thankfully, there really is just so much to do for families with children on any holiday to the Moors around Rosedale Abbey.

For starters, don't miss the family fun on Sutton Bank on Sunday 24th August when the National Park Visitor Centre and Malton Museum team up to help visitors appreciate the beauty of birds.

Families can also join the good folks at the East Barnby Outdoor Centre who are running a series of supervised adventure days.

Have an Adventure on the North York Moors this Summer.

The adventures take place every Tuesday and Thursday during August for 9 to 16 year olds.

And for just £30 per person, kids can go canoeing down the River Esk, or participate in sailing, beck scrambling, surfing, mountain biking, orienteering, climbing, or learn bushcraft.

Castle Howard is hosting a Mad Hatter's Tea Party next Wednesday, 27th August.

NYM Railway Story Trains

The North York Moors Railway is running story trains on Friday 22nd and Friday 29th August.

Kids and adults can enjoy a different themed train each week with fancy dress characters bringing the fantasy World to life.
