Enjoy Malton Food Lover's Festival

In AD 69, the Romans named it Derventione - "the oak tree glade".

In 2013, Antonio Carluccio called it the "food capital of Yorkshire".

I just call it Malton.

Malton Church

Malton is a Lovely Traditional Market Town on the Edge of the North York Moors.

And next weekend - Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th May - sees the return of the Malton Food Festival for 2014.

Quite simply, it's a two day foodie extravaganza!

There's a cookery school with Michelin Starred chef James MacKenzie, live cooking theatre, interviews, tastings, producer's stalls, book signings, festival restaurant and bar, and much more.

VIP stroller tickets cost just £5 and give priority seating access and access to the VIP garden.

So aim to get along to Malton next weekend.

Getting to Malton

Malton lies about 18-miles to the North of York on the A64 road to Scarborough.

From Rosella Cottage in Rosedale, Malton lies 19-miles to the South and is accessed via the A170 to Pickering and the A169 from Pickering to Malton.

It is about a 25-minute drive from here.
