Top Gear Films in Whitby

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have been filming not one but two whole episodes of their new show "The Grand Tour" in Whitby.

The live stage format from Top Gear days was replicated inside a large Tent on Endeavour Wharf with audience members scrambling for tickets.

Clarkson told the assembled fans that Whitby had been chosen for the shoot partly because “That road from Pickering over the North York Moors and past RAF Fylingdales is epic, it really is one of the best drives in the country." Richard Hammond added: "It's for the fish and chips, really."

We're betting that the two episodes - to be shown in November and December 2016 - will send holiday bookings through the roof for Whitby accommodation in 2017 as the show will be watched by over 600,000,000 people on Amazon Prime TV!

So book early for next summer is my advice!!!

I can't wait to watch the new show.
