Although we have facilities for storage of bicycles here at Rosella Cottage in Rosedale, not everyone can bring their own cycles.

So we recommend our guests try Trailways Cycle Hire which is a great little bicycle hire business located on the Coastal Cycle Rail Trail at Hawsker - between Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay.

Trailways Cycle Hire offers guests of Rosella Cottage the opportunity to get out and about on a bike in a traffic-free environment on the long-disused Whitby to Scarborough coastal railway cindertrack.

You'll be able to meander your way along the old railway line and stop at the many quaint villages, remote beaches, local inns or tea shops.

The business is also ideally-located for visitors wishing to explore the wider North York Moors National Park, Yorkshire's Heritage Coast, or Dalby forest.

If you're very energetic, you can also access the Moor to Sea, Coast to Coast, or Walney to Whitby trail riders from the facility in Hawsker.

Trailways has over 100 bikes available for hire so there is something suitable for all ages and abilities‚ infants to adults.

They also stock a selection of helmets, puncture kits and maps.

The business is open 7-days a week from 0930 from Easter to November.

Rosella Luxury Holiday Cottage

Rosella Cottage is a luxury holiday home in Rosedale Abbey in the heart of the North York Moors.  Built in 1850 but now completely refurbished; we have a cosy lounge, kitchen, a king-size bed in a big bedroom with vaulted-ceiling and exposed beams, and a lovely en-suite.
