Lion Inn, Blakey

North Yorkshire’s highest pub and close to Rosedale Abbey.  You can drive, walk or cycle.  The food is great and the view is spectacular.  Can be tricky in winter if the fog is down on the hills or snow is forecast.  One of our favourite places and you must call in if you’re staying in Rosedale.  It also marks roughly the half way point of the Lyke Wake Walk.  Your feet will hurt by now!

Getting there from Rosedale Abbey.  Turn left out of your Yorkshire holiday home’s front door.  Drive out of the village and uphill towards the Blakey Road.  At the “T” junction on Blaky Ridge, turn left and head towards Hutton-le-Hole (sign-posted).  After about two miles you’ll pass the Lion Inn on the right-hand side of the road.  Call in for a quick one, or for lunch or dinner.
