2015

Stayed at Rosella Cottage for a chilled and relaxing week. We're getting married this time next year (5.11.16) and it was a lovely getaway in Rosedale. Few days out and plenty of cosy nights in. Rosella cottage was so clean and crisp, yet still retained the feel of a classy old cottage. Upstairs definitely has a top quality hotel feel. And the shower = ace. Only thing we would suggest is maybe a larger downstairs to, possibly with a DVD player, for some of those wintery nights in. Thank you. Danny, Kings Lynn, November 2016.

Holiday blues already after a fantastic week in a cottage which was indeed gorgeous. D Pooley, November 2015.

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Rosella. We just wanted to thank you for allowing us to re-arrange our booking from the 2014/15 new year break because our dog had to have an operation. It is very kind and much appreciated. Best wishes, The Payton's, October 2015.

Wonderful cottage on the edge of the Moors. Excellent location to visit many local places and walks from your doorstep. Rachel, Birmingham, October 2015.

We were very comfortable in Rosella. Ideal for the two of us. Great bedroom and shower room, cosy lounge and well equipped kitchen. Everything was clean and ready for our arrival. Great welcome pack, very pretty village, ideally situated for the local hostelries and we walked mostly from the cottage itself which was ideal. Would thoroughly recommend the cottage. L Grant, September, 2015

Just to let you know I had a lovely time at Rosella Cottage. Very sweet; bedroom and bathroom in particular very swish. (I coveted the Gillies Jones glass bowl, but didn't snitch it...)   My friends were staying in the campsite (not the CC one) and we discovered the short cut through the churchyard to the site - so all worked out well. We also discovered the yummy cakes in Abbey Stores; much-needed after our walks.  Unbelievable weather on Sunday! A real September scorcher. Heather gorgeous.  White Horse pub drinks much appreciated. Thanks again for all your help. H Pickles, August 2015

Just to let you know that we have arrived and we are so pleased with the cottage! It is perfect. Thank you for the lovely welcome pack too! The kids have really made themselves at home as I am sure you have seen on Facebook! Thanks again. The Fenn Family, August 2015.

It was a lovely cottage and we really enjoyed ourselves. Clearly a lot of work has gone in to it, and also into providing useful information for guests. Everything else was flawless! D Sabella, June 2015.

Thanks for letting us stay at Rosella again. This was our 5th stay in Rosedale (2nd time at Rosella) and we had a lovely time again; the cottage was so cosy. We hope to visit again in the near future. Paul & Yvonne, 2015.

A brilliant relaxing break in a lovely spot. Whitby and Scarborough within reach.  What more could you want? Paul and Annie, March 2015.

Thank you for the food basket.  Lots of good walks, the right amount of snow to look pretty without being inconvenientand a great pub (White Horse). We also highly recommend afternoon tea at the Cedar Barn farm shop near Pickering (booking required).  A superb spread! Prue and Steve with Megan and Candy, Febraury, 2015.

A lovely relaxing break in  a beautiful, cosy cottage. Thank you for the welcome basket.  Much appreciated.  We will return.  Karen and Steve, February, 2015

A truely gorgeous cottage.  Very warm and welcoming after a day out on the Moors. Lindsay and James, with Marty, January 2015.

Once again, a big thank you for letting us stay at the beautiful Rosella.  We had a relaxing break.  I even did a 10-mile walk.  We had snow and the Moors looked stunning. This is our second visit to Rosella and our 5th visit to Rosedale Abbey.  We will definately be coming back.  The Jefferson Family, January 2015.

A homely, cosy, and comfortable cottage in a delightful village, in a stunning location. Just perfect for a relaxing and restful respite from a busy life; wonderful walks and splendid scenery aplenty. A return in the summer for the heather is a must! Thank you Rosella Cottage for an idyllic experience! The Christmas Champagne was fab! Carol, December, 2014.

Rosella Cottage is a homely, warm and welcoming Cottage set in a beautiful location.  We will highly recommend it to friends and family.  Many thanks.  The Howard Family, November 2014.

We have really enjoyed our stay at Rosella Cottage and we have loved our holiday altogether!  We will definately want to go to Whitby again and maybe even stay in this Cottage again. This Cottage was very homely and pretty.  Thank you for letting us stay here.  We really enjoyed it. We recommend the 25-minute boat trip in Whitby and eating at he Crown in Hutton-le-Hole.  One of the great things is our dog- Ruby, a spanial - really enjoyed her stay here. The sofa-bed is really comfy.  Rosedale Abbey was beautiful. And finally, Whippy icecreams are delicious.  Amy, October 2014.

Very good place to stay. Love to come here again.  Lovely walks and a loveley pub called the White Horse.  This house is very looked after and a generous hamper. Eleanor.  October 2014.

We have had a great break.  Good location.  We did a seven and half mile walk in Saturday and Flamingoland today! Totally amazing experience, it was very cosy and I loved the couch-bed.  I would definately recommend this cottage.  Lovely cottage.   Patrick, Cameron, Sam and Eleanor + Willow, October 2014.

Absolutely fantastic stay.  Loved the Cottage! Bedroom and bathroom are gorgeous. Welcome basket a lovely touch.  Although fantastically equipped on the whole, there was no I-pod docking station like it said in the guest info (Owners Note, sorry about that, but we had to replace the old one with a new Bose one which will be here for your next visit). Robert and Tracy, October 2014.

We have had a wonderful week based in Rosedale Abbey.  The Cottage and village are lovely and we have explored the Moors and Coast.  Recommend the Lion Inn after a walk on Blakey Ridge.  The Crown Inn serves good food in Hutton-le-Hole.  Hope to come back again.  Laura and Jon, September, 2014.

What a beautiful location in a gorgeous village.  Incredibly dog-freindly too!!  We bought a walk book from Abbey Stores and did 5-walks round the local area, starting from Rosedale.  They were all easy to follow and very enjoyable. Thanks for a great stay.  Sophie and Gerard, and Elton the Springer-doodle, September 2014.

We've had a lovely week in this cosy Cottage.  We took advantage of the lovely weather to explore Rosedale and did the walk of North Rosedale and South Rosedale and learned all about the history of this beautiful area.  We also walked part of the Cleveland Way coastal path from Robin Hoods Bay to Whitby which was beautiful.  The coast is definately worth exploring - Staithes, Runswick Bay, Sandsend, Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay are all fascinating.  Can't wait to come back.  Liz and Nick, Sept, 2014.

Ideal location for exploration.  Freindly village and the Cottage had everything we needed.  Thanks for letting us use your home, and especially Jackie for arranging such a welcome to the cottage.  We tried our best to leave everything where we found it.  Charlie and Carol, 2014.

Thanks for letting us have use of your beautiful cottage.  It was all we could have hoped for. Great location for exploring the beautiful North York Moors. Welcome pack was much appreciated.  Malcolm and Gill, 2014.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Rosella Cottage! It really was a home from home, that had absolutely everything conceivable home comfort, and more, provided! A new Toothbrush was invaluable when I realised I'd forgotten mine!  I will definitely book again when I am next up in the North Yorks Moors. I must say though that I thoroughly enjoyed driving through the country lanes and the scenery is truly spectacular, which is why I didn't really mind taking wrong turns!  Thanks for everything, the staff at the Milburn Arms are all lovely and next time I will definitely stay longer than a weekend. M Sandhu, September 2014.

Great place. Loved the Cottage and cosy and welcoming!  The Moors were stunning.  Even in the rain!  Thanks very much.  Carl and Louise, from kent, August 2014.

We had a great time and were very lucky with the weather so we managed to do plenty of walking.  We were very happy with the accommodation and facilities.  N Cooper, Staffordshire, August 2014.

Just a note to say thank you so very much for  the use of Rosella cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our break and the cottage is a credit to you. Very relaxing and comfortable. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Rosella Cottage to friends and family alike. The Moors were magnificent in their bloom and splendour. Kirbymoorside and Helmsley markets were super and the weather was as near perfect as we could have hoped for. It was fabulous to re-visit a lot of childhood memories of endless holidays. Thank you again. Martin, Ruth, and Henry the Ridgeback, August 2014.

Great location for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors and North East Yorkshire. Accommodation was excellent in a charming village. Shame that the weather was more like April than August but this is outside of everyone's control! Mr Boxall, August 2014.

A very nice cottage in a good location for exploring the Yorkshire Moors. The owner leaves several items of food and all the basics are provided which is a lovely touch and very well received. Louise, August 2014.

A Lovely holiday - great cottage in a magic setting - dinner and a pint (or two) of Black Sheep at the Coach House Inn, incredible black sheep at Hutton-le-Hole, a ride from Pickering to Whitby and back on the Steam Train - glorious weather.  Helmsley, the boundary stones on Blakey Ridge, a wonderful week.  Tim & Jenny, July 2014.

Rosedale was great - had a wonderful time, with walks up on the moors as well as along the valley, the 'Heartbeat' train to Whitby, the gardens at Helmsley, and so on. The weather was cooperative as well so that was even better! The cottage is well located - you've picked a good one there - and the welcome package was superb! No complaints at all about the cottage, and the parking also worked out well. The Coach House became the pub of choice - good food and ale, and pleasant people. Dr T Goddard, Canada, July 2014.

A super time once again.  Your cottage is just so lovely, and in such a beautiful village set amongst the rolling Moors.  We took the hint from the guest book and had lunch at the Pheasent in Harome as well.  A visit to Bils & Rye Gallery nearby was also great. T Barnish, Rotherham, July 2014.

A lovely week and blessed with mostly good weather. Highlights included enjoying the birdsong in the village and Curlew watching on the Moors; 60's night at the Milburn Arms, and Scamston Walled Garden. There are so many different places to enjoy, and every journey is a treat. A lovely place. P & E Saunders, Shropshire, June 2014.

Thank you for a lovely week; beautiful cottage in a wonderful setting. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area - the journey across the Moor to Hutton-le-Hole is spectacular. We had brunch at the Pheasent in Harome, sitting in the sunshine on their stunning tearrace - amazing! Rievaulx Abbey and Fountains Abbey were both incredible - don't miss. We can't wait to come back. T and G Brooker and Alfie. London, June 2014.

Idyllic weekend here at Rosella. Cosy cottage and beautiful location. What more could you want? Recommend Graze on the Green. C Brion, Nunthorpe, June 2014.

We chose to stay at Rosella Cottage for our 6-year anniversary. And we had a lovely time. The cottage and surrounding areas are beautiful. The welcome pack was very thoughtful - thank you. 10 out of 10. Would love to stay again. Victoria and James, Middlesbrough, March, 2014.

A beautiful cottage in a beautiful spot. Good walks on the doorstep. Graze on the Green and the White Horse are recommended. Both very dog friendly. We'll be back. Sue and Don, Stockport, March 2014.

Lovely weekend in Rosella Cottage. Great location for exploring the area. The cottage is cosy and has everything we needed. Our one-year old son loved exploring the cottage and the village. Donna, Chris and Isaac, York, March 2014.

We loved the house, and it is well equipped. We also wanted to thank you for a particularly delicious bottle of wine. We didn't manage our planned 20 mile walk, but we did do plenty, including the bit of the Lyke Wake Walk we needed to check out! And we saw many beautiful daffs.  And we are either side of 50! So quite a challenge! We also appreciated that dogs are allowed, and the internet. We felt much refreshed for the break. Ms J McNally, March 2014.

We had a lovely time. The cottage is  so homely and and an excellent place to stay. Would definatly like to return.  Mr Needham, Pointefract, March 2014

We have had a lovely weekend culminating in a nice walk before leaving for home today.  Richard Lockwood, Whitby, February 2014.

We had a really good week at Rosella and in Rosedale.  Shame about the British weather (thankful for the washer/dryer), but it’s still good to get away and relax.  The cottage was really well presented/ decorated and really comfy and homely.  It was well equipped with all mod cons.  If I hadn’t been to Rosedale before then I would have found all the documentation that was sent prior to the visit (and available in the cottage) really useful.  We had a great stay and we are looking forward to our next trip back to Rosedale in the future.  R Woods, York, January 2014.

We had a lovely time thank you.  Rosedale is a beautiful village and it was perfectly positioned to get out and see lots of the Moors.  The cottage was great too; and if we ever come back to that part of the world we will definitely consider staying there again! R. Lawne, London, December 2013.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Rosedale Abbey, as we chose the best day, weatherwise to go for a walk on a bridleway from the White Horse Farm Inn, with fantastic views across the fields to Rosedale Moor, before ascending up onto Spaunton Moor and across the tracks to Ana's Cross,  following another pathway and down via a public footpath again to Rosedale Abbey, finally ending at the now very smart looking Abbey Tea Rooms (still with lovely home cooking!).  The autumnal colours and shifting sense of light are particularly special to North Yorkshire. We also managed a day trip to Whitby and a village bonfire night.  Angela Summerfield, London, November 2013.

We had a great time in Rosedale, you have a lovely cottage with everything that is needed for a comfortable stay.  Weather wasn't great but we expected that and it didn't stop us doing a number of walks in the area.  We'd definitely stay again, really enjoyable and relaxing break. Many Thanks.  Richard, South Yorkshire, Octber 2013

Just returned from a wonderful week at Rosella Cottage. 5 star accommodation in a fantastic setting. Looking forward to making this a regular spot for McCann family holidays :) Thank you. Lucy McCann, October 2013.

We had a wonderful weekend in no small part due to the homely and comforting accommodation Rosella Cottage provided.  The welcome hamper was a thoughtful touch and the furnishings and interior design created a home from home but luxury environment for us.  Add to that a VERY comfy bed and excellent shower plus the benefit of washer drier -perfect!  Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful cottage, location and local amenities were perfect for our plans and Jackie was extremely helpful and friendly when we needed assistance.  Wishing you all the best and thanks again.  Mrs H Douglas, Kent, October 2013.

Arrived yesterday, what a lovely place. The cottage and village are just beautiful. Nicola and Charlotte, Rotherham, October, 2013.

The cottage was ace and we had the best time! What a lovely place Rosedale Abbey is. The cottage is in great condition. It must have been relaxing cos I actually enjoyed the washing up! We went Whitby on Friday and then just chilled on Saturday and Sunday in the cottage and village. Luke Walker, Doncaster, October 2013.

Just letting you know that the cottage is fantastic.  The photo's don't do it justice.  I'm more than happy to leave good feedback and I would recommend the cottage to anyone looking to stay in the area.  Will definately come again.  Mr and Mrs Munro, Edinburgh, August 2013.

It is a beautiful house and you must be very proud of it. We are certainly having a lovely break.  We would be only too happy to return one day. The cottage is very special, the location is perfect.  Neil Chawla, London, August 2013.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Rosella Cottage. The cottage had everything we needed/wanted. I really appreciated:
- The high level of quality throughout the cottage;
- That the cottage was very clean and the top floor smelled really nice :)
- Wifi! :)
- The car park in front.
It's perfect for a couple get-a-way and for walking in that area. We discovered quite a bit of walking routes, drove all-over, had quite a few pub dinners at the White Horse Inn, and bitters at the Lion Inn etc. We loved the attentiveness, e.g., especially the first survivor supplies for the first breakfast which was VERY much appreciated as we ran out of time to stop at a grocery store. We also thought it was lovely there was a bottle of wine and some crisps for us to have when we arrived. Ann-Marie and Luc Suren, London, July 2013

I booked Rosella on behalf of my mum. My mum thought the cottage was beautiful and just what they were looking for. She would definetly book it again in the future. E.L. Blakely, Newcastle, July 2013.

We had a really nice holiday, thank you; and thank you for the welcome goods on our arrival. Mrs S Douglas, July 2013.

We thought that the property was simply stunning, it certainly exceeded our expectations. The cottage itself is an absolute masterpiece, with a real home from home feel. I really could not find fault with the cottage. I'm sure the place will be a success with the standards so high. I have recommended the place high and wide since we got back, and whilst in the pubs there! Mr and Mrs Moore, June 2013, Durham

We've been coming to Rosedale Abbey for donkey's years and your little cottage is a real find.  We'll be back for sure!  Richard and Karen Marshall, Whitby, May 2013

We've enjoyed the most wonderful time in Rosedale Abbey and Rosella was simply fabulous.  Christina Kettler, Hampshire, May 2013

I'm so glad that we found Rosella on the internet!  Loved our stay in the cottage in Rosedale.  Thanks for everything being so nice.  Zoe and Andrew, May 2013

We've had such a lovely time, thank you.  You've made such a lovely renovation, the cottage is truely excellent for retirees like us.  Mr and Mrs Wass, Teeside, April 2013
