Summer Walks on the Moors

The North York Moors National Park Authority is hosting some great walks around the Moors this summer.

Coming up in July are two escorted walks with further walks planned for August and September.

I'll write about those walks as the summer progresses.

But visitors who are already on the Moors can participate in either of two walks on Sunday 6th July.

And all the walks are free of charge!

The North York Moors offer Some of the Best Walking in the UK.

Crinkle Moor Walk

The first walk is a hike around Crinkle Moor; taking in Carlton Bank and Raisdale.

The walk is a magnificent hike through 5-miles of the best Moorland scenery on offer with super views.

Led by Mike Nicholson, the walk will leave you with a better understanding on mankinds influence on the Moorland landscape.

Sinnington Village Walk

The second walk steps back in time with a a shorter 2-mile treck around Sinnington.

Led by Jim Hall, the Sinnington walk will trace the evolution of the village from the Norman Conquest to modern times.

You'll visit a 12th Century Church, see a genuine Maypole, and checkout a historic packhorse bridge.

What to Bring

Wear appropriate clothing and stout footwear.

Ensure to being plenty of water and sun screen if the weather is warm.

Dogs are welcome; but need to be controlled by a short-lead at all times.

Children are also welcome; but must be accompanied by an adult.
