What makes a Holiday Cottage "Romantic"?

Here's what we think are the most important characteristics to look for when booking a romantic holiday cottage break in England.

Location is the absolutely key to any "romantic" get away; with nice views and nice countryside on the doorstep being super important.

The North York Moors National Park is the sort of location that would hit the right romantic spot.

The North York Moors are Just so Lovely.

The Cottage itself is the next most important item on our Romeo and Juliet romantic wish list.

Something cosy and comfortable, but not too big is best.

A luxury bedroom with a big bed, luxury bedding, and nice decoration and lighting is important.

A Lovely Comfortable and Classy Bedroom is best for a Romantic Weekend.

A quality kitchen for foodie romantics wishing to impress their partners with their culinary skills might also be nice.

And somewhere comfortable to cuddle-up, with a nice lounge fireplace and lighting, and nice decor and artwork is another romantic necessity.

We also reckon a good pub or restaurant within a short-walk of the cottage is an absolute "must have" for any succesful romantic holiday break.

Other things we might mention include access to good walks or bike rides; and interesting and historic places to visit.

A WiFi connection to keep tabs on the kids you've left at home might also be important!

You'll discover all this at Rosella Cottage in Rosedale Abbey.
