Every visitor to Rosella Cottage in Rosedale Abbey should put a trip-out to the pretty village of Hutton-le-Hole on their holiday "must-do" list.

Hutton-le_Hole is one of the prettiest villages in the North York Moors.

Hutton-le-Hole is only a few minutes drive by car or about an hour by bike (warning - you might be riding up and down Chimney Bank if you take th direct route).

And the journey will certainly be worth it!  There is plenty to see and do for first-time visitors or "old-hands" alike - especially in summer time.

To start with; there are several places for refreshment. The Barn Hotel, The Forge Cafe, Merrill's in the Old Schoolhouse and the Crown are all to be found in the centre of the village.

The Ryedale Folk Museum is also a major tourist attraction in this part of North Yorkshire and we can't recommend a visit enough.  It really is fabulous.

You'll also find heaps of attractive old houses and beautiful gardens in the village itself and plenty of common-land on the village green to roll-out a blanket and have a summer picnic.  If you're travelling with smaller children, the brook which runs through the village will also provide plenty of opportunity for exploration and getting wet on hotter days this coming summer!
