Thornton-le-Dale Show

Another local show that is close-by to Rosedale Abbey is taking place over in Thornton-le-Dale on Wednesday 8^th August 2012.

As usual, it promises to be a grand day out.

The Show starts at 9:00 a.m. and continues well into the evening with the working terrier show, lurcher show, junior show jumping, children’s fancy dress, and sports events ranging from the men’s 400 yard race (tradition forbids adoption of the metric system) to the hugely entertaining, children’s tug o’ war.

There are also classes to cover every conceivable interest and skill ranging from chutney making to crochet; and from photography to patchwork and quilting.

On display will be many fine examples of local craft skills; typically including wood turning, furniture making, handcrafted greetings cards, pottery, silk printing, painting and dyeing, hand embroidered pictures, jewellery making, candle making, stained glass, fine art, cold cast bronze, hand-made soap, patchwork and quilting.

Rosella Luxury Holiday Cottage
