'Welcome to Yorkshire' has announced the start- and finish-line towns for the 2016 Tour de Yorkshire cycle race.

They are nicely stretched around the edge of our magnificant Country and include Beverley, Doncaster, Middlesbrough, Otley, Scarborough and Settle.

In 2016, the Tour de Yorkshire will begin on Friday 29th April and conclude on Sunday 1st May.

Don't forget - Monday 2nd May is also a UK public holiday.

There will be a separate women’s stage held on Saturday 30th April.

The event once again promises to be something special and will likely draw hundreds of thousands of visitors to Yorkshire.

Last year we were fully booked well in advance; so the advice this year is "book early" if you want to secure lovely accommodation close to the race route on the North York Moors and Yorkshire Coast.

And who knows, this year the race organizers may even take on the challenge of Chimney bank in Rosedale! Fingers crossed for that!!
