North Yorkshire Open Studios Initiative

A hundred plus arts and crafts artisans will be opening their studios to the World as part of the North Yorkshire Open Studios Initiative in June 2013.

The program is billed as promising culture with breathtaking views!

The North Yorkshire Open Studios initiative takes place in June on the weekends of Saturday 8th - Sunday 9th and Saturday 15th - Sunday 16th.

Art lovers will be able to explore North Yorkshire and discover original artwork; from cutting edge craft and design to contemporary sculpture, paintings and ceramics.

Studios taking part are located right across the North Yorks Moors and alongside the Yorkshire Heritage Coast close-by Rosedale Abbey.

Event director Rick Faulkner, from Chrysalis Arts, said: “We are blessed with a range of inspiring landscapes in North Yorkshire, which help make our Open Studios one of the most spectacular open studio events in the country.

This event offers a unique opportunity for the public to meet individual artists in a diverse range of studios and settings, to gain an insight into how their work is produced, what inspires them and to buy high quality art and craft directly from them."

Artists close to Rosedale Abbey that you can visit include: Andrea and Elizabeth Bailey in Gilamoor; Sally Parkin from Farndale; Jennifer Tetlow from Lastingham; Caroline Riley from Commondale' Lynne Glazzard and Sally Lister, both over in Glaisdale; and Janette Boskett across the moor in Egton Bridge.
