6 Rosedale Abbey

The weather here in Rosedale has been rather inclement of late.
Earlier this week I couldn't get out of the village in the morning because of the snow.
With Snow Like this in Rosedale, I wasn't Going Far Earlier this Week!
And then on Wednesday night, I couldn't get back to Rosedale Abbey because of heavy snowfall near Young Ralph's Cross on Blakey Ridge.
But with the snow and the cold came the opportunity to explore the range of North York Moors pubs that are a little closer to home.
And the closest pub of all is the Coach House; it's just a two-minute walk from the front door of Rosella Cottage here in Rosedale Abbey.
The Coach House is One of Three Pubs in the Village of Rosedale Abbey.
The Coach House is popular with locals and visitors who are enjoying the North York Moors.
In summer, it does a good trade with the camper's and caravaner's who are visiting the Rosedale Abbey camp site.
The pub is a mainstay of Rosedale community life and runs numerous community events throughout the year.
Coffee mornings and Afternoon teas to raise funds for local charities are common; as are pub quiz's, live music nights, pool competitions and such like.
A lot of people visit the pub for the food.
It is well-known locally for serving good home-made dishes at reasonable prices.
And it also does a good trade in take-away meals for locals who can't be bothered to cook; and visitors staying in holiday accommodation.
Smoked Haddock in Mustard Sause is my Favourite Dish.
The menu is quite extensive with 8-10 starters and a similar number of main courses and daily "specials".
At the bar, you'll find two regular hand-pulled Real Ale plus a changing "guest beer", and barman Ian pulls a good pint!
Three Real Ales are on Offer at the Coach House.
The pub consists of three main areas inside; and a beer garden outside to the front.
As you enter, the bar is directly in front.
Off to the left is a dining area with around 10 tables with chairs and a nice wood-burning stove.
Over to the right is an informal lounge with a pool table, darts board, one-arm bandit, and a TV (thankfully turned-off).
The Coach House's Dining Area.
The Coach House makes for a good "local" to visit on a cold day if you're holidaying in Rosedale Abbey; and it's an ideal place to call in for food and drink if you're finishing a good walk or cycle ride in the Rosedale area.
