The Black Swan, Oldstead

And the Black Swan at Oldstead near Helmsley; and 20 miles from Rosedale Abbey, was announced as the only new Michelin Star restaurant in the North of England for 2012.

The Black Swan has that rare ability to be relaxed and friendly whilst serving seriously good food in a lovely rural location in the North York Moors.

There is a characterful bar with a traditional Yorkshire stone-flagged floor, an open log fire, and oak fittings by the Mouseman of Kilburn.

The restaurant has a comfortable friendly atmosphere and there is a private dining room for parties up to 20 people.

The menu offers exiting innovative dishes and refined classical favourites.

And all dishes are strongly tied to the seasonal availability of top quality ingredients from local producers.

The wine list features a carefully balanced selection of old and new world wines.

There is also a seven course digustation menu with the option to try a small glass of a recommended wine with each course.

Rosella Luxury Holiday Cottage

Rosella Cottage is a luxurious holiday home in Rosedale Abbey - in the heart of the North York Moors.  Built in 1850 but now completely refurbished; we have a cosy lounge, kitchen, a king-size bed in a big bedroom with vaulted-ceiling and exposed beams, and a lovely en-suite.
