Walking Around Rosedale & Northdale

Boots small

Starting and finishing in the public car park in Rosedale Abbey (Sat nav postcode = YO18 6RA), this four-mile walk or jog explores our two glorious dales - North Dale and Rosedale.

The walk takes in riverside meadows, thick woodland plantations and pleasant field paths.

From the high ground above North Dale, you'll get to see a breathtaking panorama of Rosedale and the wider North York Moors.

As you take in the view, it is hard to believe that the population of Rosedale Abbey increased in the 1850s to include more than 5,000 men working in the valley-side mines.
