5. Try the North Yorkshire Moors Railway as an alternative to the Orient Express.

6. Forget the climb up Machu Piccu; the views from Roseberry Topping will take your breath away - but not give you altitude sickness.

7. Get lost in the vastness of Dalby Forest. Who needs a "walkabout" in Australia?

8. Surfing in California? Why not give the surf breakes at Scarborough or Saltburn a try!
