Rosella Cottage in the heart of pretty Rosedale Abbey is one of the most popular luxury holiday cottages in the village.

It’s a no-brainer really when you look at Rosella's stunning location.

Rosedale is a widely recognised as the most beautiful valley in the North York Moors National Park.

But there are many other reasons why our guests return to Rosella Cottage time and time again.

In fact, it is difficult to list just a small number of reasons; but here are my top-five choices as to why I think you'll love a holiday in Rosella Cottage.

But don't just take my word for it, take a look what our recent guests are actually saying.

Location, location, location

Rosella is right in the centre of our small hamlet - in fact, just a few yards from the village green.

And with the village shop, two cafes, a World-renowned Artisan Gallery, and two pubs within a short-stroll, you'll forget the need for a car.

Yorkshires best pub

The White Horse Farm Hotel - voted Yorkshire's best pub in 2012, and with great bar food and a restaurant, is an easy ten-minute stroll from Rosella Cottage.

Rambling rewards

Stepping-out from the doorstep of Rosella Cottage, you can earn your lunch at the Blacksmiths Arms at Hartoft or the Lion Inn on Blakey Ridge with a two-hour weekend walk.

There are at least 20-other pubs and Inns with eateries within a short-drive from Rosedale.

Between the Sheets Luxury

Our cottage was fully renovated with romantic holidays in mind in the Spring of 2013.

Knocking two rooms into one "master" bedroom, you'll have a souring double height ceiling with exposed roof joists, and two window's giving views to the Moors.

Rosella has a Luxury Boutique-Hotel Quality.

We also have a kingsize-bed, hotel quality linen, and a lovely modern en-suite with high-pressure walk in shower.

It's just so ideal for active couples wanting a luxury break.

Historical Distractions

There is a wealth of near-by history and culture on offer for the discerning holiday-maker.

The Georgian-era market towns of Pickering and Helmsley, both with Norman Castle's to visit are just 20-minutes away by car.

The ancient Rievaux Abbey and Whitby Abbey are each about 30-minutes away.

Helmsley castle

Helmsley Walled Garden and Castle is Just 20-Minutes Away by Car.

The World-famous stately homes at Castle Howard and Nunnington Hall are also close-by.

Day trips to York, Harrogate, Scarborough and Whitby are also within an easy hour's drive away for culture or shopping.

Flora and Fauna

Rosedale Abbey has a wonderful secluded position in the high North York Moors and set away from any main roads.

Because of the peace and quiet; our guests have a chance to really connect with the local natural environment and wildlife.

So besides our village sheep - which roam freely; you'll probably hear owls at night; see lapwings and curlews in the spring; and see the pheasants, grouse and moorhens on the Moors.

And if you’re lucky you may even spot a hare, fox, badger, or a wild deer or two.
