I'm not sure I get "it", as "it" may be all a little too post-modern for my brain to cope with, but those crazy art-folks at the Shed in Brawby have announced their new art work this week.
And here at Rosella Cottage, we love to support our local art community.
Called "The Sewer", the Shed describes its new work as "The exciting new arts venue and tourist attraction in Ryedale, North Yorkshire".
They might be right - who knows?
They also suggest that The Sewer is "A conduit and channel for experimental art, The Sewer utilises the scenic and sonic backdrop of Yorkshire Water’s Sewage Treatment Works in the tiny village of Brawby to present a multifaceted series of improvised art events to a world-wide audience"
I can't really say much, but apparently "The Sewer is overflowing with music, films and artistic interventions, backed-up by contributions from Award-Winning comedian Stewart Lee, and internationally renowned musicians Billy Jenkins, Matthew Bourne, Oren Marshall, Stanley Bad, Alan Tomlinson, Kit Downes and Mark Sanders".
Visitor and locals to the North York Moors can visit The Sewer's inaugural event on Tuesday 12 November 2013.
It kicks off at 09:35am in Brawby sewer discharge gutter with "Up To The Hilt" - Alan Tomlinson’s sewer solo.
Apparently master trombonist, Alan Tomlinson will be playing live from the discharge outfall at Brawby’s Yorkshire Water sewer.
All the events in The Sewer are free but donations can be made to WaterAid – WaterAid works in 27 countries worldwide, transforming millions of lives every year with safe water, sanitation and hygiene projects.
