"A real home from home in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors!"

We had a wonderful stay in Rosella Cottage in June 2013. Not only were we blessed with stunning weather but also a beautiful cottage in a fabulous location.

The cottage is situated on the village green close to Abbey Stores, the convenience store and tea room, and Graze on the Green, a wonderful tea room. There are two pubs in the village of which the cottage is a few minutes walk from- The Coach House Inn and The White Horse Farm Inn, the latter being our personal favourite!

On arrival there was a welcome hamper consisting of bread, eggs, wine, milk, and cheese scones (the scones were delicious) which was unexpected and much appreciated.

The cupboards were also fully stocked with teas and coffees of several varieties along with a Tassimo coffee machine.

A nice personal touch was the reading selection - we found this particularly useful as there were local walking trail books and bird watching books as well as fiction for all ages. There was also some board games for evening entertainment.

The design and decoration of the cottage was simply stunning with a warm and cosy feel. The place was spotlessly clean and they supplied all towels, bedding, toiletries and eco-friendly cleaning products.

We could not recommend Rosella Cottage highly enough if you were looking to stay in Rosedale Abbey!

Places of interest that we would recommend visiting are: Lastingham, Hutton-Le-Hole, Kirkbymoorside - especially on Wednesday market day, Pickering, Farndale - when the Daffodils are in bloom!

On a final note for the best scones ever tasted visit Dale Head Farm, at the northern end of Rosedale.
