A Great View on Offer from the Top!
North Yorkshire and Clevelands' own special Mountain; located on the boundary of the Moors and the coastal plain with fantastic views all the way to the Pennines.
You'll cover 5,000 years of geological time with each step upwards on the walk to the top.
Accessed from the carpark on the A173 between Guisborough and Great Ayton (postcode = TS9 6QR).
The Bridestones are a geological wonder from the Jurassic period; and wonderful for a visit in any season.
Accessed from Low Staindale carpark, around 2.5 miles North of Thornton-le-Dale in Dalby Forest.
Great Britain's finest and best preserved Carthusian Monestry; located on the Western edge of the North York Moors near Osmotherly.
You can visit the Old Coastguard Station down in the village; or visit the industrial heritage centre around the bay at Ravenscar.
A great place for rock-pooling!
Rievaulx Terrace
Beautiful garden setting above the famous Rievaulx Abbey; just to the South of lovely Helmsley.
Rievaux Terrace is Found Near Helmsley.
A lovely old Stately home in Nunnington between Helmsley and Malton; and on the banks of the River Rye.
