And it is only a short-drive away from Rosella Cottage in Rosedale Abbey.

Steam train - Colin Carter

The North York Moors Railway is Just 15-minutes by Car from Rosedale Abbey.

The NYMR provides steam train lovers with a great journey through 18 miles of the loveliest North York Moors countryside; from Pickering near Rosedale to Grosmont on the River Esk.

In the warmer months, you can also travel along the scenic Esk Valley from Grosmont and into the historic seaside port of Whitby.

A highlight of the journey is the stop at Goathland - better known as “Aidensfield” in Yorkshire Television’s popular "Heartbeat" TV series.

The NYMR was also featured in the first Harry Potter film as "Hogsmeade".
