Congratulations are due to our near-neighbours at the Ryedale Folk Museum who this week were crowned the winner of Yorkshire's White Rose Tourism Award for Small Visitor Attraction of the year!

White Rose of Yorkshire.

And it was no walk in the park as the Ryedale Folk Museum was shortlisted alongside the James Herriot Museum and the Thackray Medical Museum in Leeds.

Being a great representative "living museum" of life in the North York Moors National Park, and in the lovely village of Hutton-le-Hole, this win is well-deserved.

All the staff and volunteers at the Ryedale Folk Museum work so hard to enhance the experience for visitors to the Moors, so it is nice that all that hard work has been recognised.

Hutton-le-Hole has long been a Favourite with Visitor's to the North York Moors.

The White Rose Tourism Award from "Visit Yorkshire" is a fantastic way to kick start the museum's 50th Anniversary celebrations in 2014.

And the award should help with the museums next major project which is a wildlife sculpture trail.

The museum is currently campaigning for votes to win the funding from "Peoples Millions".

For more information on this project take a look at the Ryedale Folk Museum's Facebook page called ‘Walking with Wildlife’ or you can visit the Peoples Millions Website.
