The North York Moors National Park Authority is putting together a funding bid to the Department of Transport for a project worth around £4 million pounds to get more people cycling on the Moors.

If succesful, this funding will have a very positive impact for cycling tourists who visit the North York Moors.

Cycling Across the North Yorkshire Moors national Park

There are Already Lots of Routes for Cyclists to Choose from Rosedale Abbey.

As part of the proposal, visitors to the North York Moors will see the following benefits:

+  Improve facilities on offer for cyclists in the North York Moors;

+  Make it possible for cyclists to travel on every train on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and Esk Valley Railway;

+  Provide better information for cyclists;

+  Support tourism businesses to be more cycle friendly;

+  Deliver a campaign to promote cycling in the North York Moors; and

+  Raise the profile of the opportunities for cycling on the North York Moors.
