Music on the North York Moors

It's a big fortnight on the local North York Moors music scene coming up; and locals and visitors can look forward to some of the best live music in England.

NY Moors Chamber Music Festival

Renowned classical musicians from around the World are set to gather on the North York Moors from Sunday 17th to Saturday 30th August.

The North York Moors Chamber Music Festival is now recognized as one of Europe’s most remarkable classical music events.

Now firmly established on the musical map, this year, the North York Moors Chamber Music Festival celebrates 'Beethoven: A Legacy'.

The evening concerts are in some of the area's most remote and beautiful historical buildings.

And the journey to each unique venue is just part of the magic of the concert series.

Galtres Parklands Festival

The Galtres Parklands Festival is on again this year from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th August; and celebrating its tenth anniversary.

The headline bands this year include The Human League, Levellers and Bellowhead.

So Duncombe Park at Hemsley is set to be a sizzling North York Moors venue this coming bank holiday weekend.

There are over 100 bands scheduled to play across seven stages.

And there is also Theatre, Comedy, a beer and cider festival, and lots of street food.

Castle Howard Proms

The Proms Spectacular is also taking place this year on Saturday 16th August at Castle Howard.

The English National Orchestra perform beautiful music, combined with spectacular fireworks in a magnificent setting.
