Moorland Heather in August Bloom

Boots small

Walkers, cyclists, or regular sightseers in a vehicle are in for a real treat this August and early September as the Moorland heather - actually "Ling" - comes into full perfumed bloom in time for the height of the holiday season.

And being born and bred in "Lingdale" on the edge of the North York Moors National Park - but now in Rosedale -  I have a particular affinity for this summer flowering!

So today, I thought I'd give you a taste of the magnificent countryside views on offer at this time of year across the North York Moors.

If you haven't already booked your holiday stay in Rosedale Abbey this summer - here's what you're missing!
