Flying Scotsman on NYM Railway

Following a £4.2 million 'major service', the legendary locomotive 60103 Flying Scotsman is back in service!

And in great news for railway enthusiasts, history buffs, or anyone else who just loves the North York Moors; the Flying Scotsman will be making a week-long visit to run services on the North York Moors Railway in March 2016.

The NYMR Steam Railway is One of the UKs Biggest Tourism Attractions.

Unfortunately, all tickets to ride are already sold but simply seeing the Flying Scotsman will still make a great spectacle for visitors to the Moors.

There will be three return services per day and each 2-hour return journey will run from Grosmont in the Esk Valley towards Pickering.

The Scotsman will depart Grosmont at 930am, 1230pm and 330pm each day.  It will then depart Pickering at 11am, 2pm and 5pm.

The dates for seeing the Flying Scotsman on the North York Moors Railway are as follows:

+  Sunday 12th March 2016;

+  Monday 13th;

+  Wednesday 15th;

+  Thursday 16th;

+  Friday 17th;

+  Sunday 19th; and

+  Monday 20th March 2016.

Rosella Cottage in beautiful Rosedale Abbey is just 10-miles (about 20-minutes in the car) from the Pickering Terminus of the North York Moors Railway.

Spyglass 1708 in historic Whitby is around 10-miles from Grosmont Station and you can even catch the train along the Esk Valley line to connect at Grosmont Station.
