What makes a Luxury Cottage?

Our first question when looking for a holiday cottage to purchase in Yorkshire was "Would we like to holiday here?"

To make the initial list, the answer had to be "yes".

Because we love Yorkshire  and all it offers, we narrowed our field down to holiday cottages located in the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Heritage Coast.

And eventually, after a year or so of looking, we ended up in the village of Rosedale Abbey in Rosedale.

So after purchasing our holiday cottage in Rosedale Abbey in the North York Moors, we got to reflect on what it is that makes a holiday home feel "special".

What makes a luxury Yorkshire holiday cottage stand out from the crowd of run of the mill self-catering cottages?

Sense of place in the landscape?  Quality and luxury fit out?  Great village location with lots to do?  Scenary?

All those factors make a cottage special.

That's what we wanted to create - something special for our own visits - and so we'd know our guests would like it also.

It’s certainly hard to put your finger on it, but we always wanted to create a bit of a "wow factor" for ourselves and our guests.

We wanted to provide something extra that we love and we know our guests will love too.

That's because our own holidays don’t come around that often.

And if you're like us, it is really important that your holiday cottage really delivers in terms of quality and comfort when you're sharing special time with your loved ones.

Our own objective was to always leave North Yorkshire feeling happy and relaxed, and looking forward to coming back to Rosella Cottage in Rosedale Abbey again.

And that's the feeling we hope guests of Rosella Cottage will also share.
