There's Nowt as Funny as Folk

Yesterday I told a guest who had booked for a mid-week break in April the good news that they would be staying at Rosella Cottage during the historic re-opening of the Milburn Arms Hotel in Rosedale Abbey.

My thought being that this was a good thing that they would enjoy.

The Milburn Arms Hotel is a Quiet Country Inn in the Centre of Rosedale Abbey.

But to my surprise, our guests decided to cancel on hearing this news - which came as something of a surprise.

And it just goes to show that there is "nowt as funny as folk", as we say around here!

Rightly or wrongly, they seemed worried that the pub re-opening would be a noisy affair; and seeing as I always want our guests to have a 110% good time, I agreed to repay their deposit.

So we now have a 4-night mid-week break going spare, from Monday 14th to Friday 18th April - just £300 during the school holidays.

And any guest taking this week will be in Rosedale Abbey for the historic re-opening of the Milburn Arms Hotel - on Tuesday 15th April.

I'm still sure that this is a good thing!
