Galtres Parkland Festival 2014

The South may have Glastonbury; but there is an even better North Yorkshire rival - we've got the Galtres Parklands Festival!

Now in its tenth year; the Galtres Parklands Festival is probably the best family-friendly music festival in Britain.

Galtres Festival is on 22nd to 24th August 2014.

For starters, there are seven stages of music and cabaret, with headline act - The Human League - on Sunday.

You'll also discover over 100 fine Yorkshire beers and ciders on offer.

There is excellent catering with a focus on local Yorkshire produce.

Kids also have heaps to do; with everything from film making to music workshops.

There is even comedy, theatre, night-time cabaret, films, family camping, and clean loos as well!

And perhaps best of all, Galtres is staged in a beautiful rural setting overlooking the North York Moors.

The Festivals' home is Duncombe Park outside Helmsley; and just 25-minutes drive from Rosella Cottage here in Rosedale Abbey.

Human League are Headlining on Sunday Night.

The three-day Galtres Festival will be staged this year from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th August.

Who's on at Galtres 2014?

Over 100 top acts will play Galtres' eight stages over the three day Festival in 2014.

Headline acts include:

+   The Levellers and Bellowhead;

+   The Human League; and

+   Public Service Broadcasting.

The headline act for Saturday night is still to be confirmed - but promises to be big!

Supporting artists include:

+   The Men They Couldn't Hang;

+   Chris Helme (The Seahorses);

+   John Otway;

+   Boss Caine;

+   Blackbeard's Party;

+   Blues guitarist Dave Smith;

+   Folk fiddler Sarah Horn (Aelfen); and

+   The ever-wonderful Holly Taymar.

Plus loads and loads more.

So the Galtres Festival in August promises to be one of the best weekends of the whole Summer for holidaymakers visiting the North York Moors.
