1. Test your stamina againgst Chimney Bank.

It's the steepest public road in England; and you can treat yourself to the magnificent view across the North York Moors from the top.

Then have an ale or two in the White Horse Farm Inn on the way back down - voted to be Yorkshires Favorite Pub in 2012.

2. Check out all the Victorian-era industrial engineering heritage on the valley sides of Rosedale.

You'll marvel at the grit of the folks who worked the mines and railway in those olden days.

3. Walk or cycle the 10-miles of the old, abandoned Mineral Railway line.

About half way round there’s the Lion Inn on Blakey Ridge offering rest and well-earned refreshments in North Yorkshire's most remote pub.

The full treck from Rosella Cottage in Rosedale Abbey back to the village is about 4-5 hours walking time.

4. Just relax at our two village tea shops or three village Inns with restaurants.

You'll discover Abbey Stores for blueberry and ginger scones and Graze on the Green for lovely Barista coffee.

Then there's the Coach House Inn, the White Horse Farm Inn, and the newly-reopened Milburn Arms Hotel.

5. Try the legendary lemon drizzle cake at Dale Head Tea Garden.

Walk from the village taking in the wildlife, the superb views, and the protected wild flower verges.

6.  Visit the critically acclaimed glass gallery of Gillies Jones.

It's a great spot on a wet or cold day - especially if it's a "firing day" and the kilns are running full-blast to melt the glass.

7.  Take the Rosedale Golf Challenge.

Play a round of golf on the nine hole course at Abbey Golf - you'll soon discover why it's a challenge.

8.  Walk to the Monks Well on the edge of the village.

Then follow the footpath onto Dunn Carr bridge to let the children play in the river.

You'll also get to see the natural Iron Salts in the earth turning the water bright orange.

9.  It's still not too late to walk the ‘Wild’ Daffodil walk along Northdale beck.

The footpath starts-off almost from the front door of Rosella Cottage in the village and you can call into the Milburn Arms for an ale when you get "home".

10.  Discover the mystery of the Sherrifs Pit mine shaft opening on the moor top and listen to the water rushing throught the abondoned mineworks 250-feet below your feet.
