The North York Moors are justly famous for their unique scenery and historic attractions.
But recently, the Moors and surrounding area has also become famed for the delectable cuisine on offer.

Green's of Whitby is Well Worth a Visit for Great Seafood.
There is a variety of culinary treats awaiting visitors to the North York Moors; ranging from historic country Inns offering "gastro-pub" fair to an excellent selection of Michelin Starred restaurants offering traditional Yorkshire treats or more cosmopolitan dishes.
And since the Moors are bordered to the Northeast by the Yorkshire Heritage Coast, you can expect to find some great seafood in Whitby or the local coastal villages.

Fresh Haddock & Chips from Capleman's, Scotts, or Haddleys are Great.
Listed below are some of our favourite "highly recommended" places to experience the flavour of North Yorkshire.
+ The Magpie Cafe, Whitby. One of Britains finest fresh seafood restaurants.
+ The Star Inn at Harome. Egon Roney winner and featuring fine cuisine in a relaxed thatched-roofed Inn.
+ The Pheasant in Harome. A lovely Country hotel offering great food on a sunny patio setting.

Lunch on the Patio at the Pheasant is Hard to Beat!
+ The Blacksmiths, Lastingham. Lovely country pub attracting patrons from across Yorkshire.
+ The Moors Inn, Appleton. Serves the best traditional Yorkshire Sunday Lunch on the North York Moors.
+ The Cottonhouse, Helmsley. The best place to get good coffee! Also sells some nice handmade gifts.
+ Fish 'n' Chips. Try Capleman's in Pickering, Scotts of Helmsley, or Haddley's in Whitby.
