Noth Yorkshire Beaches are Best

It's officially nice to be beside the seaside again in North Yorkshire.

That's because there has been a large improvement in the quality of sea water at the local bathing beaches along the Yorkshire Heritage Coastline.

Not that you're likely to go for a dip this November!

Robin Hoods Bay Rockpool

Idyllic Days at Robin Hood's Bay.

But all 20 bathing areas on the coast achieved the required UK water standard in testing carried out this past summer.

Yorkshire Water, local councils, the "Welcome to Yorkshire" tourism agency, and the Environment Agency have been working together to improve water quality in an initiative known as the Yorkshire Bathing Water Partnership.

The results are great news for North Yorkshire; as we take centre stage on the World scene with the arrival of the Tour de France in July 2014.

The water quality results for our local fabulous beaches will give residents and visitors real confidence that water quality is good and improving.

Robin Hoods Bay View

Robin Hood's Bay.

Our favourite beaches at Runswick Bay, Staithes, Robin Hoods Bay, Sandsend, and Whitby all met the water quality criteria.

So our guests to Rosella Cottage can look forward to some good day's out at the seaside next summer.

All the local beaches are only about 30-45 minutes away by car.
