Welcome Duck, Chuck or Luv

It looks like the folks at the "Welcome to Yorkshire" tourism agency have been paying the Ad men from the South too much brass to come up with stupid ideas!

Apparently, local volunteers from Yorkshire who're involved in the Tour de France this summer have been ordered to not use local Yorkshire terms of greeting - in case they cause offense to visitors from abroad.

But lets face it - if you're going to get upset about being called "Duck", "Chuck" or "Luv" when visiting Yorkshire, then its probably best that you stay at home in Hampshire or any other foreign place.

Yorkshire people are fiercly proud of our unique heritage, our local dialects (lots), and our ability to deal with nonesense.

And the nonesense coming out of the offical Yorkshire Tourism body today, in our opinion at Rosella Cottage needs a good kick up the arse.

You'll all receive a warm welcome in Rosedale Abbey Ducks!
