The 14-mile circuit route around Pickering should be of interest to anyone wanting to get the feel of the North Yorkshire countryside by way of a gentle ride.

And it's just down the road in our local market town and about 15-minutes away by car from Rosedale Abbey.

For a detailed PDF about the route, just click here.

The route starts in Pickering town centre and travels to the small village of Marton about 4-miles away.

You'll pass through Normanby and cross the River Seven as you head towards Great Barugh.

There are some really good views looking out towards Kikbymoorside and beyond to the North York Moors.

It is mostly level ground with a few steep and gradual inclines.

You will need OS Explorer Map OL26 (North York Moors-Western area) and OL27 (North York Moors-Eastern Area).

Car parking is available in Pickerin town centre.
