Just in time for high summer; we've been busily getting our new outdoor sun patio ready for guests to enjoy during July, August and September.
Our Daughters have Enjoyed Establishing the Small Flower Beds.
The new patio gives an added benefit of being able to enjoy the outdoors in Rosedale; read a book or the morning newspaper; have a coffee; or even dine "al fresco" for lunch.
Now all we need is a good spell of hot sunny weather to really get the most out of this new space we've created!
Although, to be honest, Rosedale Abbey has had some pretty good weather through the Spring and early part of summer.
Our new patio is located on the site of two old brick sheds that we own at the back of the cottage.
Our New Patio Provides a Small Space for Enjying Summer Sunshine.
The sheds were used for storing winter firewood; but they are no longer required for that purpose.
So we asked our builder to knock them down and create a small outdoor area for our guests to be able to enjoy the sunshine.
We've furnished the patio with a ratan two-seater sofa, two single chairs, and a coffee table.
Although Small, the Patio Provides a Nice Outdoor Space to Enjoy the Sun.
We've also established some small flower beds and flower box's to provide a bit of colour.
The patio is nicely located for catching the summer sun and is also quite protected from the wind.
Directly behind the patio is the village church and grounds; so there is always a lot of birdlife to enjoy; and a nice sense of light and space.
The patio is not immediatly attached to Rosella Cottage; but rather, access is gained via a short "right of way" footpath throught the gardens of our neighbours' cottages.
Guests intending to visit with pets should note that the patio is also not fenced; so dogs must be secured at all times.
