The New Inn at Cropton is located towards the Southern-end of Rosedale where the valley open's out onto the Vale of Pickering; and right on the edge of the North York Moors National Park.
It sits astride the main valley road linking Aislby on the A171 to Rosedale Abbey at the head of Rosedale.
So you'll likely drive right past it on your way to or from Rosella Cottage here in Rosedale Abbey.
Make sure to stop-off and have a pint, a coffee, or something to eat.
The meals are excellent, and the pub is popular for it's food.
Inside you'll find a smallish "village bar" and an even smaller residents lounge - which is open to non-residents whenever I call in.

The New Inn has a Well-stocked Bar Serving it's own Excellent Real Ales.
The bar has about half-a-dozen tables which are mainly used by people having bar meals.
You can use the pubs free wi-fi if you need to stay in contact with the outside World.
But really, when you're having a nice pint and a bit to eat - why bother?
Downstairs is a very large conservatory with a "marquee-like" feel which is used as a function room for weddings, a family room and a restaurant dining room.
The New Inn offers 11 rooms for accommodation - each with en-suite bathroom.

The New Inn's Conservatory Dining Room.
They also have a camp-site available with pitches for tents, caravans and camper-vans.
But the real reason I like the New Inn so much is because it has its own brewery making excellent Yorshire real Ales.
The "Great Yorkshire Brewery" is located adjacent to the pub in the old quary.
I love their logo with it's Wippets, cricket bats, and a pigeon!
They've been brewing-up award-winning real Ales at the Cropton location since 1984.
They produce both cask conditioned real Ale and bottle-conditioned Beer.
Over the last 20-years, the brewery has gone from strenth-to-strength; and they now produce over a dozen different cask conditioned and bottled Beers which are exported around the Globe.
It's a real Yorkshire success!
My favourite is "The Yorkshire Moors" at 4.6% - a lovely ruby red Ale.
You can take part in a brewery tour - Tuesdays to Saturdays at 2pm until the end of March.
Unfortunately, children under 12 are not allowed in the brewery.
Call to book your brewery tour on 01751 417330.
And here's a weekend to put into your diary!
The New Inn and Great Yorkshire Brewery are hosting their 2nd "Beer Fest" from Friday 16th to Sunday 18th May 2014.
They'll have 60 Beers and real Ales available to try; live music on Friday and Saturday; and food served every day.
NOTE: We currently have availability at Rosella Cottage for dates in May, so please click here to check for current status.
