There is currently an exhibition of art work by Robert Parkin on show at Scampston Hall in North Yorkshire running throught to Sunday 27th October.

Robert is one of the greatest British landscape artists of the current generation; and he has been the artist in residence at Scamston Hall throughout 2013.

He first exhibited at The Royal Academy of Art in London at the age of 15.

Robert has a deep love for the British landscape, architecture, nature and people.

As an artist he is unashamedly a ‘realist’ and has been described as a ‘romantic’.

Landscape, buildings, and light - with intimate portrayals of nature, form the majority of his work, together with reflections of past and lost generations from our landscape.

An ardent conservationist he is actively involved in the fight to maintain and conserve the British landscape that has inspired him for so long.

Scampston Hall is found on the north side of the A64 Leeds to Scarborough road, approximately 4 miles from Malton and just to the east of the village of Rillington (map reference: SE 862756).

It is about 25-minutes drive by car from Rosella Cottage here in Rosedale Abbey.
